A new Community Youth/Family Club Program designed to get local families more involved in their children’s education is being offered in Escambia County by Camp Fire USA – Gulf Wind Council, Inc. Community Youth/Family Club Program brings families together for the best interest of youth, regardless of how you define family. This program, which features a variety of activities to empower parents, promotes strong families and communities. At Camp Fire USA' s Community Youth/Family Club, you will share a meal together, play together, take field trips together, learn about your community, earn awards for your accomplishments and have fun.

The program primarily targets 1st through 12th grade students and their families. The purpose of the program is to empower parents in their children’s education to help all children succeed at home, in school, and in the community. Each month a family meeting will be conducted with great gifts, door prizes, and a light dinner. After dinner, the family participates in a variety of activities that increase communication between parents, children, the entire family and the community.

Some activities are fun, and others are serious.  One of the cornerstones of the program is the parents spend time with their children just communicating each week.  Parents also give and receive input and support about parenting in the parent’s session. Families that complete the program are recognized during a special ceremony for their accomplishments.

This is a FREE program to qualifying families.
